Gluten Free Gourmet Food was started because of the passion I have for high quality food. Becoming a gluten free chef was never in my original plans. Having over 23 years of professional food experience from restaurant management, catering, private chef services and baking, discovering I was gluten intolerant in 2005 was life altering. It was shocking to see how much of my kitchen contained some trace of gluten and I didn’t know any other way. Milling over every gluten free cookbook and website I could find, I quickly discovered what so many others have found. Eating gluten free seemed like an awful sentence to eating cardboard like foods and using grains and mixes I had never imagined to go together. It seemed my passion and love for gourmet food were forever dashed. To make matters worse, I quickly discovered that eating out at a restaurant became my most feared event. It was very disrupting to find most restraunteers and chefs unconcerned and sometimes synical about my gluten free needs.
Determined to make positive changes in the profession I so dearly love, I began experimenting with gluten free recipes, various grains and mixes. For over 3 years we have tested, tried and continually refined our recipes and knowledge to save others the pain and frustration that I encountered.
